SHEARING MACHINE

Zurken Shearing machines have two types over crank shearing & under crank shearing machine .The concept of hydraulic shearing machine punch or moving blade to push a workpiece against the die. which is fixed. Usually the clearance between the two is 5 to 40% of the thickness of the material, but dependent on the material. Clearance is defined as the separation between the blades, measured at the point where the cutting action takes place and perpendicular to the direction of blade movement. It affects the finish of the cut and the machine’s power consumption. This causes the material to experience highly localized shear stresses between the punch and die. The material will then fail when the punch has moved 15 to 60% the thickness of the material, because the shear stresses are greater than the shear strength of the material and the remainder of the material is torn. Two distinct sections can be seen on a sheared workpiece, the first part being plastic deformation and the second being fractured. Because of normal inhomogeneities in materials and inconsistencies in clearance between the punch and die, the shearing action does not occur in a uniform manner. The fracture will begin at the weakest point and progress to the next weakest point until the entire workpiece has been sheared; this is what causes the rough edge. The rough edge can be reduced if the workpiece is clamped from the top with a die cushion. Above a certain pressure the fracture zone can be completely eliminated. However, the sheared edge of the workpiece will usually experience workhardening and cracking. If the workpiece has too much clearance, then it may experience roll-over or heavy burring.

Hydraulic shearing is a cutting mechanism which is enclosed inside a large stand-alone unit that can be as much as ten feet tall and 16 feet long. Hydraulic shears are recommended for high intensity metal manufacture because they are quick, quiet, and capable of operating continuously. These shears can serve a range of sizes of metal plate, depending upon the manufacturer and model. In hydraulic shearing machine the shear action is controlled by hydraulic rams. Sheet metal covers are furnished to protect the hydraulic system. Plate shearing machine can be used for cutting spitted hot ends, cold bars and scraps etc. Hydraulic Shearing machines are basically used for shearing applications and sheet cutting applications.

Parts of of Hydraulic Shearing Machine are:

1.Back gauge: It will help to improve the shearing accuracy of the metal machining machine

2.Adjustable Shearing Angle: The shearing angle of the machine tool can be adjusted according to the sheet’s thickness.

3.Ball transferring Working Table: The ball transferring can help to reduce the contact area and fabrication between the sheet and the surface of the working table.

4.Hydraulic System: This shearing machine adopts the integration hydraulic system to improve the performance reliability.

5.Foot Pedal: This metal machining machine is equipped the foot pedal to control the strokes.

6.Shearing Blade: Four cutting edges blade, prolong the working life of the shearing machine.

7.Back gauge raise system: The system is suitable for shearing long length plates, so the application of the plate shearing machine is enlarged.
